To love and serve others, practice active compassion by being present, empathetic, and willing to take action, starting with small, everyday gestures like listening, encouraging, or offering a helping hand wherever and whatever the need We expand our efforts through organized volunteering, supporting neighbors, donating resources, and demonstrating kindness and generosity to build deeper connections and a more supportive community.
How we assess needs
Our organization responds to all needs, but categorize them into five groups:
1. Perceived - Perceived needs are gaps in services based on what individuals feel about their own needs or the needs of the community.
2. Expressed - A perceived need becomes an expressed need when a number of individuals take similar action. services because the current services are at capacity.
3. Normative- Normative needs are identified based on a set of agreed-upon criteria or standards.
4. Absolute - These needs are deemed universal, including those for survival.
5. Relative- Relative needs are identified based on equity. A relative need exists when two groups or communities with similar characteristics do not receive similar services.
Responding to the Need
Our response to community need:
1. Receive the call for assistance 2. Needs assessment
3. Develop a strategic action plan
4. Compile needed resources
5. Schedule
6. Execute the action plan
Community members will be involved in every phase of the process from start to finish
